Wear comfy clothing that you can move easily in. Be prepared to sweat, so think about wearing lightweight clothes.
Wear trainers. Cross training/aerobics/dance trainers are probably best for Zumba as they have a light grip. Running trainers tend to have too much grip for the twisting and turning movements involved. For Pilates lots of people go barefoot, but it’s completely up to you.
Bring a bottle of water. There is a fountain to fill it up if needed. I provide all equipment for classes but you may prefer to bring your own mat for Pilates and Kettlercise if you have one. A sweat towel may also be useful.
No. The moves are repeated several times and are easy to follow. There is no right or wrong way to do Zumba so if you are doing a slightly different move it doesn't matter!
Yes of course, you have to start somewhere! People of all fitness levels attend my classes. You can keep all the moves low and won't be forced to take the high intensity option! For Kettlercise you will need to be comfortable with squats and lunges. For Metafit and Pilates you need to be comfortable in putting your weight onto your wrists.
You have to be 16 to come to my classes. There is no upper age limit and I have had people over 70 attend.
Unfortunately, I do not have a pre/post natal fitness qualification so I would recommend that you attend specialist classes whilst pregnant.
